WE ARE ENGAGED!!

We are engaged! Eric & I are getting married. We are tying the knot. We are getting hitched. I can't say it enough! EXCITED is an understatement!! :)

Our Engagement Story

We traveled to St Thomas, USVI for our friend's, Lacey & Cortland's, wedding. I was an honorary bridesmaid in her wedding and we were fortunate enough to travel down there with them for this amazing time. Eric and I decided quite some time before the trip that we should make a vacation out of it for us. We definitely deserved a break and were definitely ready for one! We traveled with the wedding party Thurs-Sunday and took our own vacation Sun-Friday...Well, what we thought was going to be through Friday actually turned into Sunday because of flight problems on our return trip...but that's another story (flight problems).

On the Sunday of "our vacation" we went to our new resort and settled in. Monday morning we headed to a dock at 9:45am to board our 45 ft. yacht Eric arranged! We were set to sail the seas and visit St. John island. After 2 hours of sailing, we anchored at St John on a private beach. Eric & I jumped in the water with our snorkel gear and swam to shore. After walking down this gorgeous beach, it was time to get back in the water and snorkel one of the reefs. Eric told me he was a little winded and that we should sit down for a minute. I, knowing nothing, wasn't winded and got right in the water. As I'm wading in the beautiful, crystal clear water, Eric tells me to look out into the ocean--he says "there are dolphins, look, babe"---So I look. And look. I see no dolphins and ask where they are. As I turn around, my wonderful Eric is down on one knee in the sand, just above the shoreline. I smile...and slowly walk toward him. Eric goes into a speech that melts my heart and, to sum it up, I say, "Of course!" So that's it! We're engaged! We hug and kiss and he gives me a beautiful bracelet. This bracelet means so much and has so much sentimental value as it matches the neclace Eric gave me as my "push present" when Weston was born. He tells me he has arranged a trip to New York City to meet a diamond dealer where I can pick out my own ring. Amazing? I think so.

The rest of our trip was awesome! I was on cloud nine and enjoyed every second.
